Next Round of Yoga Classes, Workshop, and More…

I hope this finds you well – breathing, moving, and pausing as often as you can.  I recently got back into my advanced teacher training courses, and I felt really excited by some of the simplicity of the “advanced” practice.  Slowing down, paying attention, and then slowing down a little bit more.  Slowing down and practicing not-doing at times can be extremely counter-cultural for most of us.  And since I’ve had rebelliousness in my blood since I was a kid (I bought a “Question Authority” bumper sticker before I had a car to put it on), I get excited about practices that move against the grain.

Here’s my yoga update for the fall.  I promise we’ll keep moving and studying yoga asana (postures), but also keep moving deeper into simplicity as we do it!

* The Next Mount Baker Community Yoga session starts this Monday, Oct. 20.  As always, the six-week session is discounted if you sign-up for all six classes ($60).  Please register now here if you plan on doing all six classes (pay online or on Monday).  Or drop-in any time if pre-registering doesn’t fit your schedule.  Also note that we’ll be dedicating the third Monday of the month to doing a more gentle and restorative practice, so bring a blanket as well as your mat if you can on 10/20 and 11/17!

* Lotus classes are great, and sometimes there’s even more space (ie smaller classes) for personal attention, so come try out Lotus if you’ve been meaning to!  I’m there Wednesday afternoons (2:30 Parent and Baby Yoga, 4:30pm and 7:30pm for All Levels classes) and Thursday mornings (9:30 am for Gentle Yoga.)  I am often teaching similar themes in my Mt Baker and Lotus classes, so they compliment each other well.

* Yoga for Parents of Children with Special Needs Workshop is back this fall.  Sunday, Nov. 2, 1-4 pm at Lotus Yoga.  See here for more details: https://www.facebook.com/events/734820836602325/ or go to Lotus’s workshops page to register.  $30 pre-registration, $40 day-of.

* Donation-based community classes at the Hillman City Collab are back starting in November.  Tuesdays 4-5:15pm.  I am one of a few rotating teachers in this yoga-for-all-bodies class.  The Collab is a great community center to support, so you get yoga and support the creation of a community resource at the same time.

* Private Yoga/Therapeutic Yoga.  I have a couple openings if you’re looking for specific, personalized support in your practice.

I wish you well!  And in the spirit of not taking ourselves too seriously in our quest for wholeness, unity, and light, I leave you with one of my favorite writers.
