Yoga Summer Schedule, Private Yoga, and More

I hope you are enjoying the amazing amount of daylight we’re getting as the summer solstice rapidly approaches!  I’m writing with updates to my schedule, and information about opportunity for private yoga study, and more.

Mt Baker Community Yoga Summer Schedule
Next week (May 27 and 29) is the last week of classes for this current series.  If you’ve been wanting to drop in, this is a great week to do it.  You can can then decide if you want to take the plunge and sign up for the full series starting the first week of June.  Yes, there will be class on Memorial Day

This summer I will be continuing the Monday morning (10 am) classes through June, then taking a break in July and August.  I’ll continue teaching the Wednesday evening (7 pm) classes through the summer.  The next series will be:

Mondays, June 3, 17, and 24, for $30 – sign up here
Wednesdays, June 5 – July 10, for $60 – sign up here

Classes are at the Mt. Baker Community Club, 2811 Mt Rainier Drive S, 98144.  For more information, go here.

Private or semi-private yoga offerings
My passion as a yoga teacher lies in adapting the teachings of yoga to meet every single students’ needs and passions.  Sometimes this is possible and wonderful in a group class, but sometimes it is easier to modify and personalize a yoga practice in a private class.  If you are interested in a private yoga session, either in my home studio or your home, please contact me.  (kristaleehanson@gmail.com
347-415-0913.)  I’d be happy to talk with you and see if it might be a good fit.  Some common reasons people seek private yoga sessions include:

– Personalizing practice to support healing
– Focusing practice on stress or anxiety reduction
– Prenatal and post-partum support
– Support living with chronic disease or disability
– Addiction recovery
– Yoga for children with disabilities or special needs
– Support for deepening building a home yoga practice

Other yoga classes
I’ll be subbing two classes this Thursday (5/30) evening at 8 Limbs Yoga in West Seattle.  Come at 5:45 for a restoratives class, or 7:15 for Level II.  Go here to register http://www.8limbsyoga.com/yoga-classes.php?loc=west-seattle.  You’ll also find me subbing prenatal, postnatal, and other classes at 8 Limbs and Lotus Yoga this summer!

Open to the Mystery
I recently came across another great Mary Oliver poem.  I read it in class this week, loving the freedom she offers in reminding us how wonderful it is to relish the unknown.  Enjoy the poem, and the weekend! – Krista

Mysteries, Yes
Truly, we live with mysteries too marvelous
to be understood.
How grass can be nourishing in the
mouths of the lambs.
How rivers and stones are forever
in allegiance with gravity
while we ourselves dream of rising.
How two hands touch and the bonds
will never be broken.
How people come, from delight or the
scars of damage,
to the comfort of a poem.
Let me keep my distance, always, from those
who think they have the answers.
Let me keep company always with those who say
“Look!” and laugh in astonishment,
and bow their heads.
~ Mary Oliver ~
